Client:
Atlético de Madrid is a professional European soccer club in Madrid, Spain. The club hosts annual youth summer camps throughout the United States to expand its brand and generate revenue.
Challenge:
Soccer camps are abundant in the United States, offering parents a wide range of choices for their children’s development. To break into this market, Atlético Madrid must present clear value in its professionalism, quality, and pricing that separates it from competitors.
The club is offering early bird discounts once registration begins. The marketing must highlight that these discounts will decrease as camp enrollments start to fill up. Most importantly, the messaging must convey a fun environment where children can have a great time.
Solution:
I crafted two registration emails (early-bird and last-minute) that spark a sense of urgency. I first introduce the summer camps, highlighting the club’s success at the professional European level to convey legitimacy and expertise. I then highlight the camp's features, such as its professional coaching staff, organized schedule, and bonus discounts at the team store, to convey a clear value for parents.
I also crafted a confirmation email that clearly describes requirements and expectations leading up to the children’s first day of camp. This email informs parents that the club has planned everything in advance and that they can trust this organization with their child.
